Google Assistant, a special AI tool designed for Google Pixel and Pixel XL handsets might be available on your android devices soon. Till now Google assistant was available exclusivly for Google Pixel smartphones only.

As per the reports of Android Police, some of the users who have signed up to the Google app beta channel have been receiving an unfamiliar alpha release of version 6.13 update. This update is working better for some but not for all the devices.

Google Assistant

The researchers of Android Police noted that Nexus 6P (Android 7.1.1) and Samsung Galaxy Note5 (Android 6.0.1) were able to launch Google Assistant just by pressing Home button for few seconds. A message “New! You just got the Google Assistant” get displayed on screen which shows this AI Assistant is working on the non- Pixel devices.

It seems that the alpha release version 6.13 has been intentionally made available for non-Pixel devices for testing purpose. After the official launch of Google Assistant v6.13, this would be clear whether this AI tool is rolling out for everyone. Still it is vague, until the official declaration comes into light, so we are not concluding anything finally yet.

The users of non-Pixel devices must beware before installing this new version of Google Assistant, because this version may cause unexpected and undesirable behavior to your device. We don’t recommend you to install this version until officially launched but if you want to try this without any delay you can install it.

Stay tuned to know more about official announcements from Google.
