Microsoft has announced that the Creators Update will be available on fewer Windows phones. This announcement has disappointed many Windows Phone users who hold older version of phones and were waiting to get latest Windows 10 update. The users of unsupported phones can run Creators Update at their own risk.

Creators update will not run on older phones

Every Windows PC user is fortune enough to get Windows 10 Creators Update that is bringing awesome features. On the other hand, Microsoft has put the condition of having new phones in order to experience Creators Update.

The list of Windows phones that will get Creators Update officially

• HP Elite x3
• Microsoft Lumia 550
• Microsoft Lumia 640/640XL
• Microsoft Lumia 650
• Microsoft Lumia 950/950 XL
• Alcatel IDOL 4S
• Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL
• SoftBank 503LV
• VAIO Phone Biz
• MouseComputer MADOSMA Q601
• Trinity NuAns NEO

After shortlisting the above Windows phones, Microsoft realized that there are some devices which are considered to be eligible but are not present in this list. Microsoft is working to add those particular devices and will be offered next build.

Microsoft team revealed how they determined the devices for Creators Update:

“We looked at feedback from our Windows Insiders and realized that we were not providing the best possible experience for our customers on many older devices. That helped us determine which devices we support for the Windows 10 Creators Update. We are continually listening to your feedback to provide the best experience for ALL of our customers.”

Although some of the users are not satisfied with the decision of Microsoft yet this decision is considered to be wise as the latest Windows update is not compatible with older phones.
