WannaCry Ransomware Patch Offline Installer
WannaCry ransomware that spreads like a worm worldwide has become a serious issue for individuals as well as organizations running Microsoft Windows on their systems. This cyber attack impacted on more than 45,000 computers and blocked the access to the systems or files.
The Microsoft security team got worried even for the attacks on the systems that are not getting mainstream support from the company. Therefore, after working on this issue, Microsoft found the solution to vanish the threats of ransomware and finally releases WannaCry ransomware patch for the systems getting only custom support to protect Windows platform.
Keeping in mind the severity of this ferocious ransomware attack, Microsoft security team was pressed into action to contain the impact worldwide. Microsoft released a special patch for its customers using older Windows operating systems.
Windows 10, which is known as the most secure Operating System, gets automatic updates, thus it is safe from being attacked. But the other Operating Systems like Windows XP, Windows 8 and Windows Server 2003 can now get security patch manually.
In March month, Microsoft released a security update which addressed the NSA’s exploit. But the systems on which the Microsoft Security Bulletin MS17-010 is not deployed is still vulnerable to WannaCry ransomware attack.
Moreover, the customers using updated Windows Defender can detect WannaCryptor as Ransom:Win32/WannaCrypt. If the Windows users are using another antivirus software such as Trend Micro, Avast or AVG, should use the latest update and even confirm about their full protection against this massive threat.
