Nubia launched the Red Magic 3 gaming smartphone in China last month. Today, the company has officially confirmed to launch its latest gaming smartphone called Nubia Red Magic 3 in India in mid-June. It will be competing with the Xiaomi’s Black Shark 2 gaming which is now launched in India.
In term of specification, the Red Magic 3 is the world’s first smartphone to come with a built-in cooling fan. It comes with a 6.65-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution and 90Hz refresh rate. It also includes DC Dimming feature to offer flicker-free experience and supports HDR playback.
It is powered by the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Mobile Platform coupled with Kyron 485 CPU and Adreno 640 GPU. It comes with up to 12GB of RAM LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 2.1 flash storage. The device runs on the Red Magic OS 2.0 based on Android 9.0 Pie out of the box.
In the camera department, the Red Magic 3 comes with a single 48MP camera on the rear and a 16MP front-facing camera. It is also the world’s first smartphone to support 8K video recording and 1920 fps super slow-motion videos. The device comes equipped with stereo speakers and supports DTS 7.1 surround-sound technology. It is backed by a 5,000mAh non-removable battery and supports 27W fast charging based on Quick Charge 4.0 technology.
On the side edge, the company also added the Red Magic triggers for better control while playing games. The fingerprint scanner is also placed on the rear of the device. Even the fingerprint scanner can be customized for a specific control.
Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac (2.4GHz & 5GHz), NFC, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and USB Type-C port. The Red Magic 3 is IP55 certified for water and dust resistance. The device was announced in Red, Camouflage, Black, and Blue with Red gradient colour models The Red Magic 3 dimensions measure at 171.7 x 78.5 x 9.65mm, and the phone weighs 215 grams.
In China, the base variant of the Red Magic 3 with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage is priced at CNY 2899 (approx. USD 430 / INR 30,000). While the Black Shark 2 pricing starts from Rs 39,999, the upcoming Red Magic 3 might come with a bit more aggressive pricing. There is no information on the pricing of the Nubia Red Magic 3 smartphone in India.
