Preview for March 2011 Microsoft Patch Tuesday

Microsoft has released Advance Notification for the upcoming March 2011 Patch Tuesday. This month Microsoft will be issuing three security bulletins which will fix total of 4 vulnerabilities.

Out of three, one bulletin has been rated as critical. This vulnerability affect Microsoft Windows Media Player which can be exploited by using a especially crafted media file of “dvr-ms” format. All the Client operating systems like Windows XP, Vista & Windows 7 are affected. Windows Server 2008 R2 is only Server Operating system which is affected by this vulnerability & is rated as important for it. Rest of vulnerabilities are fixes security holes found in Dll pre-loading in directShow, Microsoft office Groove 2007, and RDP Client.
