WhatsApp: Ending Support For Older Phones By The End Of 2016

Today’s most exclusive and widely used app, WhatsApp, is going to terminate the support for older phones by the end of 2016. This is a bad news for those who have older version of Android, iOS or Windows. A few months ago, WhatsApp stated that it will also end the support for Nokia and BlackBerry phones with older versions, but now WhatsApp has extended the deadline until June 30, 2017 for these particular devices.

This decision of WhatsApp is not going to affect more users of Android and iOS, as only 0.1 percent devices are running Android 2.2 Froyo, 8 percent iOS devices are of earlier versions.
Facebook owned WhatsApp is adding amazing features continually for millions of users and earlier versions of phones are not capable of supporting these new features. This is the only reason that WhatsApp has decided to stop supporting those incompetent older phones.

WhatsApp has already announced this decision in the beginning of 2016. Now it is just a reminder of that particular decision. If you have not upgraded your device from 4-5 years, you need to update it now to enjoy the features most popular cross-platform instant messaging app.
