Xiaomi to launch Redmi Note 8 & Redmi Note 8 Pro Smartphones Today in China

A famous Chinese brand Xiaomi is going to launch Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro under the Redmi Note 8 Series today in China. Xiaomi has announced that Redmi Note 8 is a more-upgraded device of the Redmi Note 7 with better specification and new features.

Along with the smartphones, the company is also bringing its 70-inch Redmi TV and upgraded 14-inch Redmi Book in the market. Hopefully, these products will grab a noticeable market share.

Xiaomi has scheduled the event for launching the Redmi Note 8 series smartphones, Redmi TV, Redmi Book Today at 2 pm local time. There is no official announcement that reveals the exact specifications of Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro but the leaked information of these two variants suggests that the specifications of the devices are worth exploring.

Redmi Note 8 specifications

The leaked specification suggests that the Redmi Note 8  comes with 6.4 inches, 1080 x 2340 Pixel resolution with Water Drop Notch display. It is powered by Snapdragon 665, Octa-Core, 2 GHz Processor. It runs on Android 9.0 (Pie) operating system.

For the photography, the device comes with a triple rear camera setup on the back, a 48 MP primary camera, an 8 MP ultra-wide camera, and a 5 MP depth camera. It supports 25 MP for the selfie camera. It backed by 4500 mAh battery with fast charging.

For storage capacity, the Redmi Note 8  comes with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB inbuilt storage. It is expandable up to 256GB via memory card. Other features included in Redmi Note 8 phone are Dual Sim, 3G, 4G, VoLTE, Wi-Fi, IR Blaster.

As far as pricing is concerned, the Redmi Note 8 has a priced tag of 1000 Yuan (under Rs 10,000) in China.

Redmi Note 8 Pro specifications

The Redmi Note 8 Pro comes with a 6.53-inch IPS LCD display. Top of the Display, the phone includes the dot drop notch with the 20-megapixel selfie camera. The Redmi Note 8 Pro uses Gorilla Glass protection on the front and back panel.

On the backside, the Redmi Note 8 Pro includes four cameras set up a 64-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, a 2-megapixel macro video sensor, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The Redmi Note 8 Pro is powered by MediaTek Helion G90T processor.

This latest Redmi Note smartphone runs Android 9 Pie operating system based on MIUI 10 and packed with two storage variants- 6GB & 8GB RAM. The 6GB RAM variant is available with 64GB of onboard storage, on the other side, 8GB RAM variant is available with 128GB of internal storage and expandable via microSD card.

In terms of connectivity, Redmi Note 8 Pro offers support for Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C port and 3.5 mm audio jack. It’s packed with 4,500 mAh battery backup with 18W fast charging. The device measures 146.30 x 70.41 x 9.55 mm and weighs 199 grams.

In China, the Redmi 8 Pro Smartphone is available in two variants- 6GB/8GB RAM. The 6 GB variant is available with a price tag of CNY 1,799 (roughly Rs. 18,000), and the second one 3GB variant is priced at CNY 2,099 (roughly Rs. 21,000) in China.
